This month was probably the hardest month to take these pics.
She wanted nothing to do with sitting beside the pillow, she preferred to climb on the pillow, throw the pillow, pull the sticker off the pillow, or sit on top of it.
This girl grew in tremendous ways her last month before turning one. She is active, pleasant, and full of smiles. If she's tired or doesn't get a nap, you'll definitely know it, because she's super vocal about how she feels about things.
She is in LOVE with animals...we took her to the zoo and she was amazed at each animal we saw. She believes barking is the universal animal language, so she did that most of the time. She especially loves dogs and horses and her favorite book is "Farm Animals." Her love for animals comes completely from her daddy's family, as they are tremendous animal whisperers.
This kid has ALOT of spunk.
Like ALOT.
She's super confident and social. At church, she walks in and out of pews greeting all our attenders. And checks out whats in their purses and Bibles....haha.
She has an awesome sense of humor, and knows that she we laugh pretty hard when she does certain things. She also gets a kick out of splashing water in our faces, tickle monsters, and animal noises.
Our baby girl has many loves. Animals are one. Her cars are another.
She still loves veggie straws, fruit (any berries), beef, chicken, ribs, etc.
She especial loves pasta and rice and will eat lots of both. Carbs, oh yeah. I mean, check out her awesome leg rolls. mmmm....
She's a fish. She loves the water. She loves to splash, kick, float, etc.
Thankful we have waterpark passes to get this girl her water addiction met. Otherwise she'd be swimming the the bathtub, and she hated baths up util this past week.
Lux is growing tremendously. The day after she turned one, it's like a switch went on in her brain that she was older. She started doing so many more things...
saying more words, ("whats that?" "Cow." "This." and imitates words we say),
going backwards down stairs in church,
backing up and sitting in people's laps,
interest in books have increased,
will sit and read book after book with in someone's lap while pointing at pictures and listening,
points at everything she finds interesting, especially if she wants something or wants to go somewhere,
Sits by herself and play with her toys while making her toys talk (imaginary play-YES! we've got a vivid imagination here!)
She knows when we're leaving, and runs to the door, so you can't leave...or hugs your legs at the doors.
Much more insistent about being right. Tries to justify in her language why she should do be allowed to do something that we had told her not to do.
But she does not like conflict. So after getting scolded or being in trouble, she'll try to explain things, and then want to hug or sit in your lap to make sure you're not mad at her.
Loves loves loves to be chased.
loves to chase alexio.

loves to chase alexio.
This year has gone by suuuuuuper fast. At first, I never thought one year would get here...all those sleepless nights that felt days long instead of hours, made times feel slow, but as i look back at the year, i cannot believe she's already one.
I adored this year. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. She was totally worth it.

Oh, little Lux...
I can't even begging to describe the joy you bring us each day. The way you chase alexio for a hug, catch him, squeeze him, and grin is the best. Every mess you make by emptying out the cupboards or your drawers is sometimes inconvenient, but builds those beautiful memories that we will never ever forget. Those six little teeth that have grown in are the beginning of that beautiful toothy grin, and those sparkly dark eyes of yours are our favorite. Your reddish brown streaky hair is amazing, and your uneven strands absolutely make your daddy melt and your mommy go crazy wanting to cut it (daddy won't let me.) We pray that you will continue to be a light and joy to others, as you have been this past year. That you will be filled with a love for others, compassionate, and servant hearted. We love you our spunky girl. You changed us forever.
Love, Mommy and Daddy
